Sarah Apple

Hi there! I’m Sarah Apple, the lady behind the brush, and I create bold, bright, badass signs for business and customers alike.

My passion for letters began in 2014 while working in a restaurant. I took it upon myself to maintain the restaurant’s daily chalkboard and soon became obsessed with this ubiquitous communication form: signs. I particularly loved the challenge of creating sidewalk signs quickly and efficiently, intending to compel an audience that is supposed to be merely passing by. It was there I became hooked on the power of everyday signage, and I began deeply exploring lettering as a craft, as well as an art-form.

After honing my craft for 3 years, I leapt into full-time sign painting in February of 2017. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with all kinds of businesses and people, including branding agencies, co-working spaces like Gather, popular restaurants and cafes like Richmond’s Sugar & Twine, galleries, and many more!

Today I still offer chalkboard services. However, my interests have evolved. Now I mainly focus on creating custom hand-painted signage for people’s businesses and homes. As I consider myself a life-long student of the lettering and sign painting trade, my toolbox of tricks continues to expand, which means that Lucky Signs is always offering a better service today than yesterday.
